Shane Crotts, 63

January 23, 1963 – April 21, 2026

Dexter Shane Crotts, known to many as Shane Crotts, was born on January 23, 1963, in Florence, Alabama, and passed away on April 21, 2026, in New Albany, Mississippi. He lived a full and meaningful life marked by faith, devotion to family, hard work, and a generous spirit that touched all who knew him.

Shane was a Christian man whose life reflected the values he held dear. He was a member of New Albany Church of Christ, where he also served as a deacon, and he carried his faith with him in the way he treated others. His steady presence, kind heart, and dependable nature made him a blessing to his church family, his friends, and especially to those closest to him. He was loving, adventurous, and creative, and he brought energy and warmth into every room he entered.

He earned a four-year degree in Business Management and went on to build a long and respected career with MS Farm Bureau, where he worked for more than 35 years as an underwriter. His dedication, integrity, and strong work ethic earned the respect of his colleagues and those he served. After his years with MS Farm Bureau, he followed another passion and became a general contractor. He built and restored houses with skill and care, and he held a general contractor license. He took pride in his work and found satisfaction in creating and improving things with his own hands.

Shane was a man who lived life with enthusiasm. He enjoyed playing all sports and was known for being very competitive and outgoing. He also enjoyed working out, exercising, and taking on projects that kept him busy and challenged his abilities. Whether he was working, building, or spending time with others, he approached life with determination and a positive spirit. Those who knew him will remember his larger-than-life personality and the joy he brought to everyday moments.

He is survived by his mother, Grace Haddock Crotts; his wife, Barbara Martin Crotts; his daughter, Haylee Towery and her husband, Justin; his sons, Martin Crotts and his wife, Erica, and Michael Crotts; his brothers, Stacey Crotts and his wife, Amy, and Kelly Crotts and his wife, Paula and Kyle Crotts; and nine grandchildren, Mary Martin Crotts, Dex Crotts, Jake Crotts, Wilkes Crotts, Casen Chism, Corbin Chism, Daxton Towery, Karver Towery, and Blayne Towery. He also leaves behind close friends who were like family to him, including Justin Roberts, Tim Kent, and Jack Henderson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Earl Crotts, and a sister-in-law Gina Crotts. Though his earthly journey has ended, the love he gave and the memories he created will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Shane will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, friend, and servant of God. His life was a testimony to faith, hard work, and love for family. May the Lord comfort all who mourn his passing and grant peace to those who carry his memory forward.
