Born on June 23, 1948, in Ripley, Mississippi, Mrs. Sharon was the daughter of the late Milton and Aney Bob Tidwell Gross. She received her education from Ashland High School and spent a lifetime rooted in the community she loved so dearly. A familiar and friendly face to many, she devoted over twenty years as an assistant librarian at Bond Memorial Public Library, where her quiet kindness, helpful spirit, and love for books left a lasting impression on generations.
A member of Ashland Church of Christ, Mrs. Sharon was a lady who found joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments. She had a special gift for sewing and crocheting, often creating with her hands things that reflected the warmth of her heart. She enjoyed reading, caring for her home, and above all else, spending time with those she loved. Her family was truly the center of her world—she cherished her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children and found great happiness in the company of her beloved pets, whom she adored and spoiled dearly.
Though her presence will be deeply missed, Mrs. Sharon leaves behind a legacy of gentle love, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her life was a beautiful reflection of kindness and care, and her memory will be treasured always.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her loving daughter, Tracy Ketchum; two brothers, Bobby Gross and Randy Gross (Faye); along with a host of beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Larry Van Ketchum; and her brother, Stoney Gross.
