Shavona Marie Heard, 16
January 18, 2010 – October 24, 2026
Shavona Marie Heard, affectionately known as Vona, was born on January 18, 2010, in Corinth, Mississippi, and departed this life on October 24, 2026, in Pontotoc, Mississippi.
Vona was the cherished daughter of Davita Louis and Reggie Heard.
Vona was a student at Pontotoc High School, where she was an “A” student and a member of the Beta Club. Her teachers and classmates knew her as someone who was thoughtful and respectful, with a bright mind and a willing heart. She was a sweet hearted person who had a compassionate spirit that shined in the classroom and beyond. She always understood everyone’s point of view, no matter what it was.
She was known to be kind, selfless, and creative, and these qualities were evident in the way she treated others and in the way she expressed herself. She loved cats and found joy in their gentle companionship. She was very creative and loved to draw, using her gifts to bring beauty to the world around her. She also enjoyed cooking and learning to cook, finding delight in the process of creating something special. She loved the outdoors, especially being by water, where she could enjoy the peace and beauty of God’s creation. Her favorite colors were black and white.
Vona was a beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend whose gentle spirit touched the lives of many. Though her time on earth was far too brief, the memory of her sweet presence will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Rosalyn Paden, along with a host of other angels to greet her on the other side.
Vona will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Davita Louis; her father, Reggie Heard; and her siblings, Devondre Louis, Shamya Louis, Raquan Louis, Quavion Heard Louis, Traivon Heard Louis, and Lavaiya Berry Louis, all of whom shared in the joy of her life and the bond of family. Her special friends Landon Johnson, Kiya Moore, and Aiden Montalvo will also cherish her memory. She was also deeply loved by her grandmother, Geneva Heard, and by her special aunts, Melinda Silas (Al), Alesha Paden, and Kemika Adair. She leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins who will forever treasure her memory and the love she gave so freely.
In this time of sorrow, the family takes comfort in the hope of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Vona’s earthly journey has ended, but her soul is in the hands of the Lord, who is faithful and just. May her memory continue to inspire love, compassion, and faith in all who were blessed to know her.
