Sherri Lynn Hutson Herndon, 69
May 2, 1955 – April 10, 2025
“Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.” Proverbs 31:30
On Thursday April 10, 2025, in the comfort of her home in Pontotoc, MS, Sherri Lynn Hutson Herndon, 69, departed this life peacefully, with family faithfully by her side.
Services are incomplete at this time. The family ask you to continue sharing the stories made with such a wonderful woman. Her memory will always live on in the laughter she shared, the lessons she taught, advice she offered, love she gave, and lives she touched.
Born May 2, 1955, in Michigan, Ms. Sherri was the daughter of the late Elmer Hutson and Opal Starnes. She attended the Michigan Public School System, and graduated from East Union High School, before furthering her education and receiving a radiology degree from the local Community College in North Mississippi. Mrs. Sherri was a hard-working woman who held firm the quote, “Sucess is not given, but earned through hard work, determination, and a relentless spirit”. She served the medical field well, beginning her career in the late 80’s, working in the radiology department of Pontotoc Hospital, earning the title of Radiology Director, before her retirement.
A saved Christian and follower of Jesus Christ, Ms. Sherri was a fierce woman, who believed why stand still, when there is a full life to be lived. Always quick to assist others with her opinion, she was quick witted, held fast to her beliefs, especially being very open when it came to her political views, never failing in offering advice to those willing to listen, defending those she loved most, and seeking to better herself every day. She believed life is what you make it, as she was very creative, and stylish, taken great pride in her appearance, instilling in her children the importance of doing things right first time, and treating others the way you would want to be treated. Ms. Sherri never let life get the best of her, as it served as a testament to the philosophy, “You can be a survivor or you can be a victim, either way, the world moves on even when we’re not ready.” Her strong will, loving nature, and true commitment to those she loved was clear to see, and although our lives will never be the same without her here, we find comfort knowing where she is and are forever thankful for her being the peace during every storm, joy through all life’s difficulties, and our everything during her time on earth.
Wonderful memories will continue to be cherished by two daughters, Jasmin Herndon, and Erin Conlee (Tracy), one son, Jack Peters, two sisters, Crystal Davis, and Nikki Funderburk, two brothers, Phillip Hutson, and Bart Hutson, four grandchildren, Greyson Herndon, Jett Medlin, Ethan Conlee, and Preston Peters, along with multiple nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Sherri was welcomed into Heaven by one sister, Vikki Clayton, and one brother, Richard Hutson.
