Shirley Newcomb, 74

April 28, 1950 — July 21, 2024

Mantachie–Shirley Ann Newcomb, 74, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 21, 2024, at the Traceway Manor Green House in Tupelo, MS. She was born April 28, 1950, to Jess and Cordie Mae Newcomb. Shirley enjoyed putting puzzles together, taking care of her baby doll, Peggy Sue, and playing bingo with her friends at the Green House. If you saw her, she more than likely had her snacks and Dr. Pepper with her. Shirley was voted the 2024 Green House Valentine Queen which she would often brag about.

She is survived by her best friend, caregiver, and niece, Rebecca White; two brothers, Jerry Newcomb (Ann), and Earnest Newcomb; and a host of other niece and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Perry Newcomb, and Wayne Newcomb; and one sister, Sarah Wilson.

Private family services honoring her life will be held at a later date. Pegues Funeral Home of Tupelo is entrusted with the care of Shirley’s arrangements.
