Shirley Rhea Beckworth, 84

Shirley Rhea Beckworth, 84, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 23, 2024, at Union County Health and Rehabilitation. She was born on December 31, 1939, in Marshall County to Roy Velt Rhea and Ethel Marie Houchins Rhea.

Shirley was a kind and loving woman who valued her family. She had a special fondness for children and found joy in spending time with them. Babysitting was not just a task for her, but a true passion that brought her immense happiness. Shirley enjoyed working on word search puzzles, often spending hours engrossed in her books. One of Shirley’s most notable qualities was her outgoing and friendly nature. She had a gift for making connections with people and she never met a stranger. Shirley always remained kind and compassionate, and she never spoke ill of others and always sought to see the good in everybody and everything. Her love for her family, her joy in taking care of children, her passion from word search puzzles, and her genuine kindness towards others all combined to make her a truly special and cherished lady. She will be deeply missed by her family. She attended First Pentecostal Church of New Albany.
