Sir Antony Jacobs, 79

January 27, 1945 – October 15, 2024

PONTOTOC COUNTY – Sir Antony Jacobs, renowned chef and restaurateur and jolly British bloke, departed this earthly pilgrimage and ascended to the next realm from North Miss. Medical Center in Tupelo on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, after a period of declining health. He was 79 years old. Born in his native London, England, Antony grew up there, received his education in London and attended the most prestigious culinary schools available. His skills were so honed and, combined with his love of cooking as a means to satisfy his fellow man, Sir Antony throughout his life returned to London as a guest Professor of Culinary Arts in London as well as Paris, France – a city he loved and revered. Sir Antony enjoyed dual citizenship with England and the USA. He married his longtime sweetheart, Betty Bullard (Jacobs) in Hernando, MS, on March 17, 1998, and they enjoyed many years of world traveling and sharing light, love and adventure. Sir Antony seemed to love the South. For many years, he owned and operated Sir Antony’s Bakery in Tupelo and The Bastille Bakery in London before coming to the States, both go-to venue’s for those desiring the best of pastries and baked goods. Sir Antony was fluent in French and English, was of the Jewish faith, and was well known worldwide in the culinary world as he lived large and fully sharing his furious passion for delectable treats.



Per his request, there will be no formal services. Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo is assisting the family with cremation and private memorial arrangements.

Sir Antony is survived by his wife, Betty Bullard of the Pleasant Grove Community in Pontotoc Co; his son, Andre Jacobs and his sister, Rosalyn Collins both of London, England, and their families. He also leaves great memories of his time spent with his wife Betty’s family from her marriage to the late Charles Bullard.
