Stanford Adair, 89

April 10, 1935  –  August 13, 2024

TUPELO – Mr. Stanford Adair, 89, longtime resident of Lee County, died peacefully on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, following an extended illness at Sunshine Healthcare in Pontotoc. Born on April 10, 1935, Mr. Adair was the son of the late Malone and Flossie Stanford Adair. On August 6, 1955, he married the love of his life, Geneva Campbell Adair. Mr. Stanford was a valued employee of Pepsi Bottling Corporation for 40 years before his retirement in 1997.



A Christian, and member of Sherman Church of Christ, Mr. Adair was strong in his faith. He was a simple, friendly man whose contagious smile would brighten anyone’s day. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all he loved being a “Papaw” to his much-adored grandkids. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services honoring the life of Mr. Adair will be held at 4 PM on Thursday, August 15, 2024, in the Sadie M. Holland Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors in Tupelo with Bro. Joe Connell officiating. Visitation will be from 2 PM until service time. The burial will be at Macedonia Cemetery. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed at 4 PM at hollandfuneraldirectors.com/live-streaming, where it will be archived.

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Geneva Campbell Adair of Tupelo; one son, Roy Adair (Miranda) of Jackson, TN; his daughter-in-law, Jeania Adair; three brothers-in-law, Bobby, Carl (Joker), and Jimmy Campbell; five grandchildren, Brandy Wallace (Brett), Justin Adair, Kayce Adair, Blake Adair, and Brandon Adair; six great-grandchildren, Ella, Allie, Ben, Hampton, Madelyn and Maddux. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Billy Adair, four brothers, James, William Luther, Charles and Dean Adair, and one sister, Essie Norris.
