Steven Bradley “Brad” Ayers, 58
December 30, 1966 – September 15, 2025
Steven Bradley Ayers, known as Brad to most everyone that knew him, departed this life at his home in Guntown on Monday, September 15, 2025.
Funeral services for Brad will be held at 11 AM on Friday, September 19, 2025, in the Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Steve McKee officiating. Visitation will be from 5 PM until 8 PM on Thursday evening at Ripley Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
Born on December 30, 1966, in Aurora, Illinois, Brad was the son of Mr. Billy Hugh Ayers and the late Linda Joy Childers Ayers. He was a graduate of Falkner High School before continuing his education at Northeast Mississippi Community College in Booneville. A hard worker, Brad could be described as a jack of all trades, but will most be remembered for his career in the construction industry and trucking business.
Brad was a simple man who found his greatest joy in the quiet pleasures of life. He loved the outdoors and could often be found hunting in the woods, casting a line in the water, or simply enjoying the peace of nature. Saturdays were reserved for keeping up with NASCAR, where his loyalty to number 3, Dale Earnhardt, never wavered.
Brad enjoyed living life simply, always content with the company of a close circle. For those fortunate enough to be within that circle, Brad’s love was steady, deep, and unwavering. His quiet nature was matched by a strong heart—when he cared, he cared with everything he had. Those who knew him best will remember not only his dependable nature but also the depth of his love and the quiet strength of his presence.
Though his passing leaves us with sorrow and unanswered questions, we place our hope in God’s promises. We trust that Brad has found peace in his Savior’s care, where all burdens are lifted and love remains eternal. “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” – John 14:27
Along with his father, Mr. Billy, those left to cherish memories include one son, Cade Ayers, and one aunt, Jane Childers Coltharp, along with family and friends.
In addition to his mother, Mrs. Linda, Brad is also preceded in death by his grandparents, Clark and Wardie Childers, and Hugh and Faye Ayers.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Maddox Jordan, CJ Glissen, Hunter Hall, Chad Jordan, and Bud Bond, along with Nathan Box serving as a honorary pallbearer.
