Steven R. Pickens, 39

January 16, 1986September 15, 2025

Steven R. Pickens, age 39, departed his earthly life on Monday evening September 15, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany, Mississippi.

Memorial service will be at 2 PM Thursday September 18, 2025, in the Memory Chapel of New Albany Funeral and Cremation Care with visitation beginning at 12 Noon until time of service. Bro. Marty Merritt will officiate.

Born on January 16, 1986, in New Albany, Mississippi, Steven Pickens was the beloved son of Mr. Ray Lamar Pickens and Mrs. Peggy Jean Gordon Pickens. He grew up in the East Union community, where he received his education in the East Union Public School District, and later devoted his working years to the furniture industry.

A Christian, Steven attended Wells Chapel Church and lived his life with a quiet strength and humility. He was a man of simple character who found happiness in life’s everyday joys. He could often be found watching his favorite shows, “The Office” and “Two Broke Girls,” where his easy laugh would fill the room. His love for anything with an engine was unmatched—whether riding ATVs, flying drones and airplane simulators, or admiring monster trucks, bright red Chevy Camaros, and motorcycles. Steven’s eyes always lit up when horsepower and adventure were near.

Though he was not one to seek the spotlight, those closest to Steven knew the depth of his heart. His easygoing spirit and gentle nature made him a steady presence in the lives of family and friends. He cherished the quiet moments over the crowded ones, and his love for his family spoke louder than words ever could. Above all, Steven’s proudest role in life was being a devoted father to his two beautiful daughters, whom he adored beyond measure. To his parents, he was a beloved son, deeply loved and cared for always, and to his many friends, he was a loyal companion who will be missed more than words can express.

Steven’s life may have been simple in the eyes of the world, but to those who knew and loved him, it was rich in love, laughter, and the small but meaningful joys that made him uniquely himself. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to share in his journey.

In addition to his parents, memories will continue to be shared by two daughters, Ryleigh and Khloe Pickens, his sister, Brandy Malone (Jason), the mother of his children, Kimberlee Stout, his feline friend, Sassy, and two canine companions, Buddy and Gracie.

New Albany Funeral and Cremation Care invites you to share memories with Stevens family.
