Steven Wade King, 62

February 7, 1962 – December 9, 2024

Steven Wade King, well known as Steve to his much-loved friends and family, departed this life peacefully on Monday December 9, 2024, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth MS, surrounded by those who loved him most.



Per Steve’s request he will be cremated, and although no services will be held, we ask you continue share the stories made with such a wonderful man, as his memory will live on in the laughter he shared, the love he gave, and the lives he touched.

Steve was born on February 7, 1962, in Memphis, TN, to the late Noris Tate and Shirley Jane Thomas King. An exceptional athlete who graduated from Walnut High School, Steve was a spectacular football player, and great basketball player, who help lead his team in winning the national basketball state championship. He was a certified mechanic, working self-employed all of his life, fixing vehicles around the north Mississippi area, and helping folks with anything he could.

A Christian and proud veteran who served in the United States Army, Steve was known to everyone as a simple man who came across very serious, while friendly and never bothering anyone. He enjoyed watching westerns, being outdoors fishing and turkey hunting, and spending time with his family. Steve will always be remembered as a loving dad, great brother and uncle, and fine fellow and friend to all, who had a zest for life, willingness to help others, and deep love for all those important to him.

Those who will continue to carry on his memoires include two sons, Noah Johnson (Alyssa), and Ryan Johnson, one daughter, Chelsea Johnson (Anna), one brother, Jeff King (Lisa), one sister in law, Bonnie King, one grandson, Hunter Lane Johnson, his nephews, Zack King, Ty King (Reanna), Johnothan King (Stephanie), and John Harris, his niece, Stephanie Meeks (Robert), his great nieces and nephews, Aubrey, Ethan, Caitlyn, Kaylee, and Ava, and wide circle of friends and family.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy King, and a great nephew, Isaiah.
