Susan Bryan Jackson, 65

December 21, 1959  –  October 23, 2025

Tupelo-Susan Melinda Bryan Jackson, 65, departed this life for eternal life from NMMC-CCU in Tupelo in the early morning hours of Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025. Susan was a well loved lady by her family and the greater community. Born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee to the late Stanley Bryan and Barbara Kellum Bryan, Susan grew up living in several states due to her father’s journeyman construction/metallurgic job. She graduated from Itawamba Agricultural High School in Fulton and trained afterwards in Secretarial Sciences. Sue was a master secretary working at several employers. She retired after 18 ½ years as Secretary at Cooper Tire in Tupelo. She married Robert Michael Jackson on Aug. 19, l989, a marriage of 36 years at her death. Sue had a variety of interests and hobbies. Among them were being an avid reader especially of biography’s and history books, crafting, scrapbooking, watching sports especially following the Ole Miss Rebels and watching historical documentaries on TV. Nana loved her family and cared for them well especially her grandchildren, whom she gladly served as a short order cook. Her vibrant personality, her love of pets and her caring, loving persona endeared her to many people. She will be missed!



Susan is survived by her husband, Michael Jackson of Tupelo; her daughters, Olivia Hester Ratliff (Bobby) of Williamsburg, VA. And Shelby Jackson of Paragould, Ark.; Nana’s 6 grandchildren, Payden Surrette (Leah), Annabella Ratliff, Gracen Ratliff, Bo Ratliff, Cambelle Ratliff and Madelynn Ratliff; 4 sisters, Angie Tucker of Smithville, Phyliss Wallo of New Orleans, La, Jenny Barnes of Tupelo and Amy Bryan of Dauphine, Ala.; Her Mother in Law, Nelda Jackson; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and all their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Barbara, her son, Paul Hester, a nephew Drew Scribner and a nieces, Beth Scribner and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Ratliff, Bo Ratliff, Payden Surrette, Luke Tucker, John Bryan Barnes and Jake Kimbrough.
