Terry Ray Hogue, 73
November 14, 1951 – June 8, 2025
Belden – A great man who lived a purpose-filled life that honored God, his family and community, Terry Ray Hogue died Sunday, June 8, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones. He was 73. He was born November 14, 1951 in Memphis, TN to the late William Hogue and Francis Lessel Hogue of New Albany, MS. A patriotic American, Terry served in the MS Army National Guard for 6 years. He married Patricia Westmoreland on June 24, l972. Never afraid of work, Terry retired after 25 years of employment with Rockwell, 10 years employed by Tom’s, and 11 years at Wonder Bread. Terry had a genteel personality, never met and stranger and greatly enjoyed his interactions with family, friends and customers. After retirement, Terry fished for six months and hunted for the other six months. He was moved by God’s marvelous creation. He was a member of Buck Hollow Hunting Club and Rockwell/Delta Breakfast Club where he enjoyed talking to his former co-workers. He was loved and affectionately known as “Papaw” by his grandchildren. Terry was a long-time active and engaged member of Endville Baptist Church where he served many years as deacon and taught Sunday school for several years. His favorite Bible verse was Joshua 24:15, “But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” Terry was known for his strong Christian faith and witness and his generous spirit in living by the Golden Rule. He will be missed by all.
A celebration of Terry’s life and home-going will be at 2 PM, Thursday, June 12th, 2025 at Endville Baptist Church with Bro. Josh Westmoreland officiating, assisted by Bro. Marty Merritt. A graveside service will follow at Endville Cemetery with Bro. Robert Hogue officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, June 11th from 5 PM – 8 PM and Thursday from 12 noon to service time, all at the church.
Survivors include his wife of almost 53 years, Pat Hogue; his children, Jason Hogue of Red Bay, AL and daughter Melissa Davis of Vestavia, AL; grandchildren, Braxton Hogue (Mallory), Maggie Cox (Brady), Chase Shoup and Brady Shoup; and brothers, Bill Hogue and Jerry Duggar. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Francis Hogue; his siblings Ruby Henderson and Joe Hall.
Pallbearers will be Lane Davis, Scott Tackett, Gabe Thomason, Wesley Tutor, Nathan Tackett, Lee Franklin, Bradley Hogue and Jeremy Hogue. Honorary pallbearers will be Buck Hollow Hunting Club and Rockwell/Delta Breakfast Club.
