Toby Lee Johnson, 53, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday October 1, 2024, at his home in the Falkner Community.

Funeral Services honoring the life of Toby will be at 11 AM Friday October 4, 2024, in the Heritage Chapel of the Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Onie Ralph officiating. Visitation will be from 10 AM until time of service on Friday October 4, 2024, at the Ripley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Little Hope Cemetery in Falkner.

Born April 30, 1971, in Tippah County, Toby is the son of the late Roy and Mary Elizabeth Logan Johnson. He received his education from Falkner High School and was blessed with masterful hands, working in construction, welding, and working the land by farming most of his life. A Christan, Toby attended the Crossroads Baptist Church in Falkner.

Not long-ago Toby wrote a letter and sent to a cousin of his and in it he writes, “Just a sinner and a believer, no suits, no ties, no tears, I’ve had many good years. Bring gloves, boots, and your hat, bury me shallow for I will not lay where I am at. Sing high and aloud, for I’m just above the clouds. God will hear you too and will make room for you. If you only trust in him, then there will be no end. He is my savior, my best friend, He will be yours to, if your knees will only bend. Notice how it all changes. From the top to dying, then changes to actually living and then things don’t matter, because I’m not afraid anymore. So, remember no tears and I love y’all”, Toby.

Toby had a heart of gold and would give the shirt of his back to anyone who may have needed it. Although he went through many tough trials and tribulations, we know that he’s no longer fighting the demons he’s faced for so long and has finally been set free from the things that have held him down. We find comfort and peace knowing that today, Toby has a brand-new body and is experiencing all the wonderful things God has prepared for us all.

Those left to carry on his legacy include one daughter, Chelsea Johnson (Anna Michael), two sons, Ryan Johnson and Noah Johnson (Alyssa), one brother, Greg Russell (Keeley), one grandson, Hunter Lane Johnson, his niece and nephews, Alli, Colt, and Tyler, his sister-in-law, Cynthia Russell, his uncle and aunt, Homer and Sarah Richardson, and a host of cousins, family, and friends.

He is proceeded in death by his parents and one brother, Frankie Russell.
