Tristin “T-Hop” Scott Hopkins, 29

June 6, 1996 – June 19, 2025

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Tristin “T-Hop” Scott Hopkins, life-long resident of Ripley, Mississippi, on Thursday morning, June 19, 2025, at the young age of only 29.  Tristin was a devoted father, son, brother and friend to all that knew him.

Funeral services honoring the life of Tristin will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, in the Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Austin Hamilton officiating.  Visitation will be on Monday, June 23, 2025, from 5 PM until 8 PM and on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 10 AM until time of service in the Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow in the Mount Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery in Ripley.

Born on June 6, 1996, in New Albany, Mississippi, Tristin was the adored son of Jeannie Brock and Scott Hopkins.  A 2014 graduate of Ripley High School, he loved playing football for the Ripley Tiger team.  He gained many friendships along the way, to which many were still a part of his present-day life.

Having the “heart of a lion” and being labeled “as tough as a pine knot”, Tristin never let the bad weigh him down.  He faced his challenges head on, always finding a way to inspire those around him, never wavering, and living life to the fullest. Family meant everything to him, and he loved them all dearly, especially his daughter, Nataleigh, to whom he lovingly nicknamed his “baby girl”, for she was the light of his life.  He cherished his uncle, Chuck Hopkins, who introduced him to the renowned fisherman, Bill Dance, aware of Tristin’s passion for hunting and fishing.  Consistently maintaining a sense of humor, while also exhibiting remarkable toughness, he will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him. His departure has created a significant void in the hearts of his family, friends and countless others whose lives Tristin influenced. We kindly request that you remember him for the substantial impact he had on the lives of those fortunate enough to have known him.

Those Tristin leaves behind are his parents, Jeannie and Nicky Brock and Scott and Casondra Hopkins, his daughter, Nataleigh Paige Hopkins, his grandparents, Shirley Cook, Cas and Joyce Keel, Gerald Brock and Peggy Shelby, one sister, Kelsey Hopkins, his half-brother, Cade Clayton, one step-sister, Preslee Robbins, one step-brother, Hunter Brock, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Jack Hopkins and one uncle, Brad Hopkins.

Those serving as “T-Hop’s” pallbearers are J.J. Chavez, Brian Hopkins, Chase Hopkins, Hall Miskelly, John Austin Moore, Jacob Rainey, Rusty Robbins, and Scott Russell.  Serving as honorary pallbearers are Peyton Clark, James Gamblin, Christopher Hamilton, Alec Hobson, and Jackel Jackson.

Ripley Funeral Home invites you to share memories with the Hopkins family.
