Tupelo Transit closed until April 7 due to Covid-19 positive driver

Tupelo MS – The City of Tupelo has announced that Tupelo Transit, operated by Northeast Community Services will be closed until April 7, 2020.

A Tupelo Transit driver has tested positive for the Covid-19 coronavirus on Saturday March 28th.  The driver had last operated a bus on Monday March 23rd, 2020.

All passengers who rode the bus with this driver  within the past three weeks have been contacted and notified of the positive test.

All employees of Tupelo Transit have been required to self quarantine. The service will be closed, per CDC guidelines, for 14 days from the exposure. All vehicles and offices of Tupelo Transit are being professionally cleaned and sanitized.

Tupelo Transit provides curb-to-curb service in Tupelo, from 5:30AM to 7:30 PM, Mondays through Fridays. The service is not limited to persons with disabilities.  When the service is operating, riders can call 48 hours ahead and be guaranteed reserved seating on the bus.
