Tupelo Theatre to present ‘Elf the Musical’ and audition for ‘Arsenic and Old Lace’
Tupelo Community Theatre will present Elf the Musical in December and is looking for actors for the classic dark comedy Arsenic and Old Lace.
TCT will present Elf the Musical, book by Thomas Meehan Bob Martin, music by Matthew Sklar and lyrics by Chad Beguelin, Dec. 3-5 at the Lyric Theatre in downtown Tupelo.
Based on the beloved New Line Cinema holiday film by David Berenbaum, this hilarious fish-out-of-water comedy follows Buddy the Elf in his quest to find his true identity.
Tickets may be claimed by patrons and members now and purchased by the public at beginning at noon on Nov. 16.
Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for students and younger. For more information or to reserve call the TCT box office at 844-1935.
TCT will hold auditions for Arsenic and Old Lace on Monday, Dec. 7, and Tuesday, Dec. 8, at 6 p.m. at the Lyric Theatre at 201 N. Broadway in Downtown Tupelo.
This show is a farcical “dark” comedy about the Brewster family. Mortimer, a drama critic, must deal with his crazy, murderous family and local police in Brooklyn, New York. The cast is composed of one female aged 21-35; two females aged 55+; and 11 males aged 25+. No advanced preparation is required.
