Tyler Joe Cayson, 35

August 10, 1988 – July 25, 2024

PONTOTOC – Tyler Joe Cayson died at his Pontotoc County residence on Thursday, July 25, 2024 after being disabled for three years from an automobile accident. A great free spirit from birth until death, Ty was born in Tupelo on August 10, 1988 to Joe Cayson and Tabatha Holcomb Cayson Walton. He grew up in Mooreville and graduated from Mooreville High School in 2007. Ever the loyal Trooper, Ty made his mark as an athlete. He played lineman on the Trooper Football team and was a state champion in Power Lifting, a sport he continued to excel in as long as he was able. He had just three years ago placed first in two meets. Ty epitomized the spirit of Mooreville Troopers until his death. Loyal, faithful and supportive, he bled Green, always speaking highly of his alma mater. A practical jokester and prankster, he had an uncanny gift of making people laugh but, God forbid, don’t pull a stunk on him less you incur his ire. He literally was the #1 fan in Mississippi of the Denver Broncos. (His pallbearers will be dressed in Bronco jerseys.) An avid Miss. State sports fan, Ty loved fishing, especially with his beloved nieces and nephews. He was saved at Grace Memorial Baptist Church where he was active all his life. An all-around great guy, Ty will be missed by his family and large circle of friends.

A service celebrating his life will be held at 2 PM Sunday, July 28, 2024 in the Sadie M. Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo. Visitation will be from Noon-service time on Sunday only. Bro. Kerry Nelson and Bro Kevin Merritt will officiate with Jeremy Haynes delivering remarks. Burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park.
