Union County Supervisors’ meeting of January 19th is brief

The Union County Board of Supervisors took just 31 minutes to work its way through a routine agenda Tuesday morning, Jan. 19th.

Business completed during the brief meeting included:

–Approved contract documents for work to be done by Ganger Construction Company on the county-owned building being leased by Emerald Manufacturing Company.

–Approved the low bid to provide the county with crushed limestone.

–Approved 25 “turn-arounds” for use of school buses operated by the Union County Public School District.

–Approved the low bid by Landers for maintenance work on county-owned garbage collection equipment.

–Approved declaring five tractors surplus property and the sale of the equipment to the highest bidder.

The meeting was recessed until Monday, January, 25, 2016. The county board normally meets on Mondays but met Tuesday this week because of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday on Monday.

For-whatever-it’s-worth, Tuesday, January 19th, was the anniversary of General Robert Edward Lee’s birth in 1807.
