Vehicle struck a house on Shady Grove Road

A woman was injured about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday evening, September 11, when a motor vehicle struck a house on Shady Grove Road in New Albany.

A motorist apparently lost control of a yellow pickup truck in the 800 block of Shady Grove. The rear of the truck struck the front door of the dwelling.

The driver lost control of this pickup truck, the rear end of which crashed into the house on Shady Grove Road.

The injured woman was said to have been sitting in a chair just inside the house and received unknown injuries when the vehicle struck the house. A significant portion of the front wall of the house was collapsed by the accident.

Several emergency units responded to the scene northwest of downtown New Albany, a few hundred feet east of Moss Hill Drive.

Part of the front wall of the house was collapsed by the impact.

An ambulance crew from Baptist Memorial Hospital – Union County removed the injured woman from the house on a stretcher. She was transported to the emergency room of the hospital. The extent of her injuries was not known.

It was not determined whether the driver or any passengers of the pickup truck had any injuries.

Nobody except the female occupant of the house was observed being transported to the hospital.
