Virginia Fay Donaldson, 82

July 9, 1942 – December 31, 2024

Virginia Fay “Meme” Burk Donaldson, 82, resident of Pontotoc, passed away at New Albany Health and Rehabilitation Center on Tuesday, December 31, 2024.

Mrs. Virginia “Meme” was born July 9, 1942, in Pontotoc, to the late Havery Coleman and Mary Ann Guymon Burk. She received her education from the Pontotoc School system and was retired from a career in retail.

Throughout her life, Mrs. Virginia “Meme” enjoyed many hobbies and activities, including reading, crocheting, and fishing.  She was proud of many things, but most importantly, she was proud to be called “Meme” and cherished the time shared with her family.  A Christian of the Baptist faith, she will be remembered for her patience, kindness, and giving heart, who will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish memories include her granddaughter, Tonda Howard (Karl); three great-grandchildren, Sage, Pearson and Emery Harris; and a bonus son, Roger Donaldson (Rebecca and Christy).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Elliott Donaldson; one sister, Elaine Robbins; and four brothers, Raymond, James “Jim”, Larry and Keith Burk.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of New Albany Health and Rehabilitation Center, her roommate and newest friend, Ms. Ruth, for the love and support they gave “Meme” daily.  Along with her longtime caregiver, Ms. Martine, whom she loved and considered to be one of her grandchildren.

The family is planning a small, intimate gathering to celebrate the life of Mrs. Virginia “Meme” Donaldson at a future date.  Please hold her in your hearts and continue to share the stories and the memories made with such a wonderful lady.  “How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard…” -Winnie the Pooh
