Born on July 23, 1949, in Paragould, Arkansas, to the late Glenn and Mary Marie Cole Thacker, Vonda was a faithful Christian and devoted member of Rogers Chapel Church. Her faith was the foundation of her life. Each morning began with her Bible and daily devotion, and no day passed without her lifting her family up in prayer. She loved deeply and showed that love in countless simple but meaningful ways, especially through cooking meals for those she treasured most.

Vonda found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved going out to eat for fish and shrimp, cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles during football season, working word search puzzles, and curling up with a good Christian or western romance novel. She had a warm spirit that made others feel welcome and loved, and the memories she created with her family will forever remain close to their hearts.

Those left to cherish her precious memory include her daughter, Lisa Morrison of Ripley, her son, Philip Rogers of Ripley, three sisters, Dora Arant of Biggers, Arkansas, Brenda Pankey of Kennett, Missouri, and Darlene Jarrett of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, two brothers, Clifford Thacker of Lynnette, Arkansas, and Jerry Thomas of Paragould, Arkansas, six grandchildren, Matthew Rogers (Cynthia), David Rogers (Laken), Monica Jackson (Bryan), Jacob Morrison (Cheyenne), Samantha Rogers, and Victoria Morrison, seven great-grandchildren, Greyson Rogers, GraceLen Jackson, Lane Rogers, Natalie Wiggington, Nova Rogers, Everley Rogers, and Arlington Rogers, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

She was welcomed into Heaven by her parents; her beloved husband, Harrell Rogers; two brothers, Arlie and Harlie Thacker; and her son-in-law, Len Morrison.
