Waddell Hunt, 63

Waddell Hunt, 63, entered into rest on January 15, 2021 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS.

Waddell was born on December 14, 1957 in Holly Springs, MS, to the late Walter Hunt, Sr.  and Callie Mae Faulkner-Hunt.

Waddell was a long-term resident of Rest Haven Nursing Home in Ripley, MS, where you would find him helping the nurses, staff members and other residents who lived there.  Waddell loved to tell stories “his way.”  His stories brought much happiness and laughter to everyone around him.  Waddell was a gentle soul, whom everyone loved.  He will be greatly missed by all.

Waddell leaves to cherish his memory; six nephews, Howard Hunt of Ripley, MS, Rickie (Gena) Walls of Springfield, IL, Reggie (Denise) Walls of Aurora, IL, Terry Lawrence, Gerald Lawrence, and Franklin Lawrence, all of Holly Springs, MS; three nieces, Renee (John) Grimes of Sugar Grove, IL, Sondra Gipson and Lahoma Byers, both of Holly Springs, MS; sister-in-law, Earnestine West of Aurora, IL; and countless great-nephews, great-nieces, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Walter Hunt, Jr. and Jerry L. Hunt; his sister, Marcella Martin; and niece, Lizzie Ruth Lawrence.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Serenity-Autry Funeral Home, 140 N. Memphis Street, Holly Springs, MS  38635

A Graveside Ceremony will follow the visitation at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Red Banks, MS.
