Walter Johnson, congratulations and thanks!
Former Mayor Walter Johnson receiving the UCDA Citizen of the Year Award Monday night reminded me of some pictures of him I took a number of years ago, and I went searching for them.
I have always liked these shots and do not believe any of them have been published previously. They were taken one afternoon nine years ago, in 2007, as Walter sat and talked with Jean Ashcraft and me at the offices of the then New Albany News-Exchange.
Walter Johnson has a great, expressive face — handsome, wise, mischievous, charming, some times all at the same time. We thought his many friends might enjoy seeing these shots.
Congratulations again, Walter. And thank you for all you’ve done for New Albany.
