Willie C. Humphrey, 73
February 9, 1951 – September 4, 2024
Willie Clide Humphrey was born February 9, 1951 to the late Georgia Mae Massey in Benton County, Mississippi. He was later adopted and raised by his great aunt and uncle, Levi and Lee Ella Humphrey. He grew up and attended Pontotoc Consolidated Schools. He departed this life on September 4, 2024.
Willie accepted Christ at an early age and joined St. Paul MB Church in Ecru, Mississippi. He later moved his membership to East Baptist MB Church in Pontotoc, Mississippi.
Willie was a truck driver and to all that knew him, he loved his occupation. He drove for companies such as Q.T. Todd Construction, Big M, and Litton Furniture.
Willie was a father to six children: Linda Humphrey, Lee Junior Humphrey, Marcus Bean, Johnathan Gill, Danny Gill, and a bonus son Michael Humphrey.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Georgia Mae Massey; his adoptive parents, Levi and Lee Ella Humphrey; his stepfather, Lee Alfred Greenlee; his siblings, Mark Greenlee, Earcile Greenlee Shaw, and Georgia Lee Love.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories, six children: Linda Humphrey of Pontotoc, MS, Lee Junior Humphrey of Tupelo, MS, Marcus Bean of Oklahoma, Johnathan Gill of Pontotoc, MS, Danny Gill of Tupelo, MS, and a bonus son Michael Humphrey of Pontotoc, MS; three granddaughters, Carlisa Stinson of Pontotoc, MS, Quiera Jones of Tupelo, MS, and Amari Bean of Oklahoma; one grandson, Marcus Bean, Jr. of Oklahoma; two great grandchildren, Sa’nyla and Khyza Strong of Pontotoc, MS; three sisters, Betty McMullen of Tulsa, OK, Sadie (James) Cork of Ackerman, MS, and May Mayfield of Grand Rapids, MI; two brothers, George Greenlee of Eupora, MS and Clyde (Bobbie) Greenlee of Tulsa, OK; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 8, 2024, from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Payton Mortuary. There will be no funeral service or interment.
