Willie Ervin Barnes, 72
June 14, 1953 – February 4, 2026
We thank God for having shared with us 72 years, the life of Brother Willie Ervin Barnes, who was born June 14, 1953, in Lee County. He departed his life and went home to be with the Lord at his residence in Baldwyn, MS on February 4, 2026.
He graduated from Saltillo High School in 1971. He attended college at the University of Louisville. He graduated with a BS degree in Business/Engineering. He served his country in the Vietnam War and later worked for the city of Louisville in Kentucky. He confessed his faith in Christ at an early age and joined Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church where he remained a member. He sang in the choir, attended Sunday School and BTU.
He loved spending time with his family, farming, fishing, hunting, traveling, riding his motorcycles and working on vehicles.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mildred L. Harrell and Art Barnes Jr., his sister Amor Barnes, brother Artist Barnes and Deacon Dudley Cal Barnes.
Willie Ervin leaves to mourn and cherish his memories three sons: Michael Hayes, Brian William, and William Ervin Barnes, Jr.; two brothers, Jeff Barnes (Sylvia) and Shaun Banks (Erica); three sisters: Marthia McClendon, Cecelia West (Michael) and Sandra Magee (Gregory); one aunt, Josie Chandler; three sisters-in-law: Linda Barnes, Elizabeth Barnes and Shirley Morrow; three nieces: Monica Barnes, Chasity Tate (Kevin) and Keisha Hill; six nephews: Reginal Barnes (Blanca), Corey McClendon, Jovi Barnes, Eamon Barnes, Kenneth Mitchell and Sanchez Barnes (Jasmine); children at heart: Austin, Reginal Jr., Malik, Tavian, Dillian, Tasha, Jasmine, Raneisha, Areyanna, Heaven, Grace, Saniya, Autumn, Kaylyn, N’dia, Eamon, Amir, Eamoni, Mariyah and Mayleigh.
