Willie “Paul” McGaughy, 52

May 31, 1972  –  December 14, 2024

TUPELO – Willie Floyd “Paul” McGaughy departed this life for his life in eternity from NMMC on Saturday, December 14, 2024. He was 52 years old. Paul was born to the union of Essie Middlebrooks McGaughy and Willie Fred McGaughy. He lived all his life in Tupelo attending Tupelo High School where he played football. Before becoming disabled, Paul worked in the Commercial Building Trades helping build hotels all across the South. Paul loved sports, cooking and spending time with his family. He accepted Christ at an early age at White Hill MB Church but attended the Sanctuary Church the last few years of his life.



A service celebrating his life will take place at Lane Chapel CME Church in Tupelo on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Issac Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in Porters Memorial Park. Visitation will begin on Saturday only at 12:00 PM until service time at Lane Chapel Church. Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo is honored to serve the family.

He is survived by his wife, Tuere Bluitt-McGaughy, and his mother, Essie Mae McGaughy and Morgan Watkins (Pops); two daughters, Precious Ray and Kamrii McGaughy, both of Tupelo, MS, and one son, DePaul McGaughy, also of Tupelo; grandson, Ma’Kari Fair; his four sisters, Jessie Louise King (Ronny), Alfredia Middlebrooks-Lyons (Tyrone), Estlean Middlebrooks-Kohleim (Joseph), Rosie “Tiny” McGaughy-Wallace (Aedrick); two brothers, Willie Fred “Billy” Middlebrooks (Latoya), and Eric McGaughy (Amanda); his seven aunts, Jessie Middlebrooks, Sherry McGaughy, Donna Kay Bailey, Eve Mae Williams, Tarnell Penson, Sue McGaughy, and Georgie Porter; his two uncles, W.T. Thomas, and Warren McGaughy; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, and his special friends.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Willie Fred McGaughy, his aunt, Rosa Robinson, his uncle, Roosevelt Robinson and his grandmothers; Retha Robinson and Tarnell McGaughy.
