Rowan Family Dentistry hosted an “open house” Friday, Dec. 15, at its new 11,000 square foot facility at 730 Coulter Drive in New Albany.

New Albany Mayor, Tim Kent, did the honors in a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by about 60 individuals. Several hundred people had seen the new facility by the time the open house ended at 5 pm.

The Rowans and their staff conducted guided tours of the facility. Refreshments were served and door prizes were given.

Dr. Rowan has been practicing dentistry in New Albany for about 20 years. He said the practice had simply outgrown its previous facility, which was further east down Coulter Drive.

The new facility has excellent design characteristics, both exterior and interior. The interior is especially attractive with excellent architectural lines and proportions.

The long interior hallways have well-selected art on the walls, good lighting and well-designed floor coverings, which make walking through them an esthetic treat, much more than just a way to get from one room to another.

The reception area, waiting rooms and business office spaces sport well-chosen art, furniture and fixtures; considerably superior interior design, compared to what is generally seen in top health care facilities.

Rowan Family Dentistry now has a staff of about 25, including three dentists, five hygienists, and seven dental assistants.

A published statement by Rowan reflects the pride the professionals and staff take in the new facility: “Our new practice has given Rowan Family Dentistry a tremendous amount of potential for improving the dental care for our patients in New Albany and beyond.”
