Luncheon with Books: Juanita Floyd discusses her “Summer of 1969”

Tuesday, June 19, Friends of the Library will sponsor Luncheon with Books at the Jennie Stephens Smith Library in New Albany.

Juanita Floyd will discuss her book Summer of 1969: the Story of Cozett Juanita Gambrel. In the fall of 1969 Cozett Juanita Gambrel was going to be the only black child in her new class. Her mother spent the summer preparing her to face this challenge. Juanita Floyd’s book is the endearing story of that summer.

People of all ages and races can learn from the lessons contained in Summer of 1969: The Story of Cozett Juanita Gambrel.

A light lunch will be served beginning at 11:30AM.
