New Albany Middle School names new Assistant Principal

New Albany School District announces the hiring of Anna Kathryn Sloan as the next Assistant Principal of New Albany Middle School. Sloan brings several years of experience in education, coaching, and research. Most recently, Sloan served as a secondary education teacher and coach in the Tupelo Public Schools.

Sloan is a graduate of Millsaps College where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. She earned a Masters in Public Administration and a Masters in Public Health from the University of Alabama-Birmingham. She received her Masters in Secondary Education Teaching from Mississippi State University and her Specialist in Educational Leadership from the University of Mississippi.

Mrs. Sloan stated the following about the new opportunity in the New Albany School District, “I am thrilled about coming to work for the New Albany School District. I cannot think of a better place to begin my administrative career than New Albany Middle School. I eagerly anticipate getting to work with and know the students, staff, and faculty. I would like to thank Mr. Evans and Mr. Wright for giving me the opportunity to work in this incredible school district.”

New Albany Middle School Principal Jamey Wright stated, “We are fortunate to be adding Mrs. Sloan to our team. Her experience as a teacher, coach, and researcher will serve our school and our students well.”

Mrs. Sloan was approved by the New Albany School Board of Trustees on June 4 and replaces Jane Hubbard who resigned last month.
