Opalene Littlejohn Dunlap

Opalene Littlejohn Dunlap, 98, passed away Friday, February 15, 2019 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Union County. She was born March 13, 1920 in New Albany to the late Bill and Myrtis Reid Littlejohn. She was a retired store clerk, having worked at Morgan and Lindsey’s, Pannell’s Dry Goods and Van Atkins. She also farmed with her husband for over thirty years. She was hardworking and independent. She enjoyed working outside and mowing her yard. She was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be 3:00p.m. Sunday, February 17, 2019 at United Funeral Service with Bro. Kevin Williams officiating. Burial will be at New Harmony Cemetery. United Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Jackson (Van); her son, Jimmy Dunlap; a sister, Faye McCullough; a brother, Kenneth Littlejohn; three grandchildren: Mike Dunlap (Leigh), Adam Little (Angela) and Shanda Wicker (Dave); five great grandchildren: Emma Dunlap, Sam Dunlap, Ruby Little, Jackson Wicker, Mason Wicker and one to arrive in June. She also leaves her extended family of Dogwood Assisted Living, where she resided for the last seven and a half years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-five years, Sam Dunlap; her daughter-in-law, Charlotte Dunlap; and three sisters, Etoyce Pilcher, Edith Reed and infant Mildred Littlejohn.

Visitation will be on Sunday, February 17, 2019 from 1:00p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
