– Betty Jean Jarrett Boatner, 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 13, 2019 at her home. She was born September 21, 1930 in New Albany to Paul Jesse Jarrett and Grace Gullick Jarrett. She retired from Irwin B. Schwabe and was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and canning. She was a member of Amaziah Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be at 11:00a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2019 at United Funeral Service with Bro. Jason Howell and Bro. Tom Sumrall officiating. Burial will be at Amaziah Cemetery. United Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.

She is survived by her husband, John L. Boatner; one daughter, Vivian Kidd (Larry); one son, Lawrence Hicks (Deloris); one sister, Anne Acup; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Elvie Hicks; a son, Bruce Hicks; and a daughter, Patricia Higgins.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 15, 2019 from 5:00p.m. till 8:00p.m. at the funeral home.
