First Baptist Church Makes Donation to Lee County Sheriff Department

Lee County- First Baptist Church of Plantersville has donated hand-made stuffed animals and blankets to the Lee County Sheriff’s Department. The items are used when deputies go on calls that involve children. The donations were made by a group called Women on Mission along with a local sewing group.

“I can tell you this, these ladies have a heart of gold for others,” Said First Baptist Church pastor Danny Balint. “It is a privilege to be their pastor and to be associated with them.”

When officers are called to cases involving children it can be traumatic. Cases can range from an automobile accident to child abuse. Often times children are confused, and do not understand what is going on.  Items such as stuffed bears are helpful in easing the stress for the child, and make a positive connection with law enforcement officers.

The church is currently not holding regular services at the church building. However, Pastor Balint is providing a service via Facebook Live, as are many other area churches.
