New Albany Middle School students get into Shakespeare

April 23rd marked Shakespeare’s 359th Birthday.  It also marked the day that he died.

Shakespeare is an incredibly well-known playwright famous for Romeo and Juliet.

Matthew Darling’s Theatre I class at New Albany Middle School has been studying the history of drama.   They just completed a section of study on Elizabethan and Shakespearean Theatre.

Students had the opportunity to take their own pictures using a photobooth and attempted to sign Shakespeare’s signature

Students studied how Shakespeare is famous for “throwing tomatoes at a bad actor” and even got to reenact it.

Students answered questions about Shakespeare’s life and work and the students who got correct answers got to throw a ball of paper at Mr. Darling simulating the experience at Shakespeare’s Globe.

Students enjoyed celebrating one of the most famous and influential figures in the history of theatre.
