Baptist Union County selects Amadu Service First Champion of Quarter

NEW ALBANY, Miss., May 5, 2021 – Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County recently announced Margo Amadu has been named Service First Champion for the quarter.  Amadu, a patient care assistant, was nominated by a family member for going above and beyond to care for their dad.

Service First Champions are individuals who consistently exceed all expectations for the purpose of serving others and are nominated by colleagues, physicians, patients and their family/support persons for outstanding service.

In the nomination, the family member wrote, “Amadu’s bubbly personality made our stay in the hospital much brighter.  She would warm his cold hands and make sure he was comfortable before she left the room.  On our last night, dad was sleeping, and Margo reached out to tell him goodbye.  She held his hands to warm them one last time while he slept, and then she placed her hand on his head for a minute.  She did not say anything, but we knew she was saying a prayer for our dad.”
