Murder mystery dinner recalls speakeasies and Roaring Twenties

New Albany Community Theatre will present another of its popular murder mystery dinners Friday and Saturday, July 23 and 24.

Unlike previous performances that were held in the Magnolia Room at the civic center, this one will be at the Union County Heritage Museum. The Magnolia Civic Center will still be handling tickets sales, however.

The theme of this mystery will be Felons, Flappers and Foul Play:

“In America, Prohibition is still in full swing and while it makes alcohol a difficult commodity to attain, it certainly isn’t impossible.

“The Macaroni brothers are one of Chicago’s main families responsible for importing the contraband. They own Swingers, arguably the most popular speakeasy in all Chicago. From bodyguards to sassy jazz singers, alcohol to fine dining, this hip club has everything.

“And tonight – it even has a murder. Bugs Macaroni, the big boss himself, is dead. The only problem is – who killed him?”

One $30 ticket gets you hors d’oeuvres, a multi-course meal and an evening of entertainment where everyone tries to solve the mystery and win a prize.
