Judy Rutledge West, 67

September 2, 1957 – February 6, 2025

“Every life leaves a footprint in the sand of time, but the deepest and most lasting impressions are made by those who live with purpose and passion.”

With impressions of love, care, and faithfulness to her husband, children, grandchildren, sisters, and friends, Mrs. Judy Rutledge West, 67, departed this world on Thursday February 6, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS.

Born September 2, 1957, Mrs. Judy was the daughter of the late Roy Lee Rutledge and Jackie Lou Moody King. She was a graduate of Ashland High School and on June 12, 1981, married her beloved husband, David G. West, who survives. They built their family in the Falkner Community, where Mrs. Judy was employed as a CNA with Beverly Health Care, which is now known as Diversicare Health and Rehab, before transferring to Rest Haven where she retired. She was a selfless woman, who posed a caring nature and served the Tippah County Community well for multiple years during her time with the nursing homes.

A Christian and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Mrs. Judy was a fierce woman, who enjoyed all the simple things in life. She was blessed with talented hands, as she produced a bright flower garden and bountiful vegetable gardens yearly, baked delicious and beautiful cakes, which were often used for weddings and multiple children’s birthday parties, and taking all the family photos at every event, even though she never let anyone take her picture. Other hobbies included watching birds, especially hummingbirds for which they were her favorite, and eating different foods, as she loved trying anything new. Above all, Mrs. Judy’s greatest happiness came from those she loved most. Although her husband describes her as a “true red head” and she never failed to speak her mind, her personality was second to none, for she was very outgoing, could fill any room with joy and laughter, loved her family dearly, and was determined to always be there for them. Mrs. Judy was one of a kind and to be loved by her was to be blessed, for her memory will continue to live on and inspire strength, resilience, and generosity in those whose lives she touched most.

In addition to her husband of forty-three years, Mr. David, memories will continue to be cherished by two daughters, Rachel West and Heather Sue-Ann Myers, and her husband, Kristopher, one son, David Andrew West, and his wife, Wendy, three sisters, Hazel Woods, Kim Simpson (Patrick), and Donna Knight (David), five grandchildren, David Alexander West, Jacob Aubrylee West, Adrian Daniel Myers, George Edward Myers, and Richard Allen Myers, her “big bulldog” and baby, Bubba, and a wide circle of friends and family.

She is also proceeded in death by one brother.
