February 12, 1948  –  September 9, 2025

Barbara Jean Dillard Deaton passed away and went to her heavenly home on September 9, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County after a well-fought battle with cancer. Barbara was born February 12, 1948, in Unio County to Elmo and Frances Faye Fooshee Dillard. Barbara was a Christian and a member of Blue Springs Baptist Church. She was a retired Bookkeeper for the family business, Deaton Roofing Company, and was also a homemaker.

She enjoyed spending time with her family. Before her health declined, she enjoyed shopping and tending to her roses and flowers.

She is survived by her children Terry Deaton (Jill) Jeff Deaton (Maria), Amy Deaton Campbell (Joey), and Mitzi Deaton Potts. Her siblings Betty Dye (Gerald), Steve Dillard (Pam), and Peggy Smith.

She was affectionally known by her 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren as “Mamaw Bob.”

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Jimmy Deaton whom she was married to for 49 years, her parents Elmo and Frances Faye Dillard, her siblings Terrell Wayne Dillard, Brenda Ann Dillard, Billie Ruth Dillard and Bonnie Carolyn Deaton.

Barbara was a resilient woman with a quick wit and a great since of humor. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit and memories will live on through the lives she enriched with her love and kindness.

Services to honor her life will be Friday, September 12, 2025, at 2:00 pm at United Funeral Service, with visitation beginning at 12:00 pm until the time of the service. Burial will Be in Vista Memorial Park.
