Barry Gene Sullivan, 56

December 19, 1968 – October 24, 2025

Guntown/Plantersville-Barry Gene Sullivan, more prominently known as “Bo”, died at NMMC-Pontotoc on Friday, October 24, 2025. He was 56 years old. Born in Tupelo on December 19, 1968 to the late Clyde Sullivan and Jesse Holland Sullivan, he grew up in the Plantersville area and lived there most of his life. A Baptist, he spent his life as an amateur and professional wrestler making a big name for himself in Mid-south wresting circles. Tough as nails, he was a tender hearted man who loved his family especially his four grandchildren, who called him PawPaw Bo. Bo enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing and was a grill master of the first order.



A service celebrating his life will be held at 3 PM Friday, October 31, 2025 in the Sadie Holland Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo. Burial will follow in Plantersville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 PM-service time on Friday only. For those unable to attend, the service may be viewed at hollandfuneraldirectors.com/Live-streaming at 3 PM, and will be archived thereafter.

Bo is survived by his daughters, Candy Sullivan (Dale) of Plantersville, Jennifer Sullivan Scruggs (Austin) of Amory and bonus daughter, Jasmekia Chrome of Plantersville; his son, Gene Sullivan of Guntown; 4 grandchildren, Austing, Avery, Cordarius and Darriana; his extended family and their children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Jesse and two brothers, Dale Sullivan and Lewis Holloway.
