Dimple Lavonne Barker Patterson, 90

August 14, 1935 – November 26, 2025

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” — Psalm 116:15

On Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at her son’s home in Myrtle, Mississippi, the Lord and Savior she loved so faithfully called our dear sister in Christ, Mrs. Dimple Lavonne Barker Patterson, home to Heaven at the remarkable age of 90. The same Savior she worshipped, trusted, and praised throughout her life tenderly welcomed her into the place she had long prepared her heart for.

Funeral Services reflecting on this precious woman’s life will be held at 2 PM Sunday, November 30, 2025, in the Memory Chapel of New Albany Funeral & Cremation Care, with visitation from 12 Noon until time of service. Burial will follow in Glenfield Memorial Park, with no graveside service.

Born on August 14, 1935, in Alcorn County, Mississippi, Mrs. Dimple was the beloved daughter of the late O. Z. and Effie Latch Barker. She received her education through the Alcorn County Public School System and began her working years at St. Joseph Hospital before marrying the love of her life, the late Mr. Wayne Russell “W.R.” Patterson. Together they made a home across various parts of North Mississippi before finally settling down to raise their family.

A devoted wife, ideal mother, and tireless homemaker, Mrs. Dimple poured her entire heart into caring for the ones she loved. She cooked three meals a day, kept her home in impeccable shape, and ensured every detail—from freshly ironed clothes to warm, welcoming meals—reflected the love she held for her family. Her home was her ministry, and she served it with joy.

A true Christian and a Proverbs 31 woman in every sense, Mrs. Dimple delighted in worshipping her Maker. She was a faithful member of Victory Church in New Albany, where she received the Holy Ghost, lifted her hands in praise, and shined her Christian light for all to see. Her love for the Lord radiated through both her words and actions. She prayed daily for her children and grandchildren, offered help wherever she saw a need, and found purpose in even the smallest acts of service—like washing dishes in her son’s kitchen or quietly encouraging others through prayer.

In the later years of her life, when her health began to decline, she never wavered in faith. She held fast to the promises of God, never losing her hope, her joy, or her praise. Even in her final days, she spoke confidently of Heaven and her assurance in the Savior who had carried her every step of the way.

While our hearts mourn her earthly absence, we rejoice in knowing that Mrs. Dimple has not truly left us. She is more alive today than she has ever been—whole, healed, and rejoicing in the presence of Jesus. Glory to God for blessing this world with ninety years of her tender spirit, her steadfast faith, and her shining Christian witness.

Those left to cherish sweet memories include two sons, Marc Patterson (Felicia), and Paul Patterson, a daughter in law, Sherry Hoskins, three brothers, Dave Barker, Mike Barker, and Travis Barker, eleven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren, along with her nieces, nephews, family, and beloved friends, each grateful for the light she shared.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Dimple was also preceded in death by two sons, Russell Patterson and Steve Patterson, three sisters, Bonnie Land, Wanda Stone, and Mary Millner, one daughter in law, Joanna Patterson.
