Michael Allen Dillard, 65

May 14, 1960 – December 23, 2025

Michael Allen Dillard, 65, departed this life and entered into his Heavenly Home on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, in the comfort of his home in Pontotoc, Mississippi.

Per his request, a simple burial service will be held at 1 PM on Sunday, December 28, 2025, in the Biffle Cemetery in Pontotoc, Mississippi. The family deeply appreciates prayers, thoughts, and support during this tender time.

Born on May 14, 1960, in Pontotoc, Mississippi, Michael was the son of the late Lawrence and June Sansing Dillard. A graduate of Hurricane High School, he devoted forty-seven years of his life to the timber industry. Logging wasn’t just a career for him—it was his calling. He believed in honest work, long days, and earning every single thing he had. He truly loved the job, the land, and the people, spending his life doing what he knew best with Biffle Logging and taking pride in every cut and load.

A Christian and man of simple, genuine faith, Michael will be remembered for his strong-willed, determined spirit and his fun-loving personality. He had a gift for making people laugh and the kind of humor that could lighten even the hardest day. He was a character in the best way—independent, stubborn when he needed to be, but loyal to those he loved.

In his free time, Michael enjoyed the things that made him feel alive and at home: watching car shows and wrestling, listening to classic rock, and getting grease on his hands while working on whatever was under the hood. A talented shade-tree mechanic, he could fix just about anything he set his mind to, and he had a special place in his heart for square-body Chevys—one of which he was working on at the time of his passing.

Though his presence will be missed more than words can say, Michael’s legacy doesn’t end here. It lives on in the sound of a chainsaw in the distance, the hum of a classic rock song on the radio, the rumble of an old Chevy rolling down the road, and the memories shared by all who knew him. Those who loved him will carry him forward—through stories, through laughter, and through the simple reminders of the things he cherished.

His race is run, his work is finished, and he now rests in the peace in the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ.

Michael’s memory will continue to be cherished by two daughters, Tammy Cook (Jesse), and Sandy Johnson, his girlfriend, Michelle Hardin, five grandchildren, and five great grandchildren, along with a circle of family and friends.
