Khadence Jamal Patterson Thomas, 9

Born June 3, 2016, in Tupelo, MS to Khadijah Thomas and Khalil Patterson. Throughout his life, Khadence battled with; epilepsy, cerebral palsy, dysphagia, spastic quadriparesis, infantile spasms, developmental delay, and other medical challenges. With the Lord’s help, he handled these challenges with strength and a smile on his face. God called him home on January 1, 2026, at North Mississippi Medical Center surrounded by loved ones. Khadence attended First United Methodist, where he loved to sing in the children’s choir and play the hand bells, as well as Hope Church that accommodated his life challenging needs. He remained a devout member of both congregations until his passing. Khadence was homeschooled through ECEC Pre-K, Parkway Elementary School, and Lawndale Elementary School. Khadence enjoyed all the different activities that he was apart of. Khadence participated in all the A.B.L.E. Sports Camps, Shine Foundation events, and recreational sports. In 2024 Khadence got the opportunity to go to Disney World with Havis Kids, where he enjoyed meeting all the characters and exploring all the rides, especially Ratatouille, Frozen, and Buzz Lightyear. He loved watching Disney On Ice and seeing the characters he admired right in front of him. He is remembered with love by his mother (Khadijah) father (Khalil) and sister (Khamyiah).
As Khadence leaves this earthly life, he is met with love by those who passed on before him;

Ted (Ethel) Luster of Walnut, MS, Wayne (Marilyn) Colyer of Ripley, MS, and Larry (Odera) Betts of Corinth, MS; uncles, DeVonté Thomas of Starkville, MS, Antoniéo Thomas of Jamestown, NY, Marcellus Garner Jr. of Jackson, TN and Dajerious Scott of Pontotoc, MS; aunts, Maleeka Patterson of Booneville, MS, Juliawna Scott of Booneville, MS, Tiarra Patterson of Corinth, MS, Amandylnn Patterson of Corinth, MS, J’Tiana Bonds of Jackson, TN, and Jayana Bonds of Jackson, TN; and a host of great uncles, great aunts, and cousins.
A time of visitation will take place Saturday morning, January 10th, 2026, from 10:00 AM – 11:00AM at Hope Church @ 2094 McCullough Blvd, Tupelo, MS 38801, followed by a formal service at 11:00 AM. The family ask that you please wear pink or light blue to the service! A burial ceremony will take place at 2:00 PM at Ruckersville Cemetery @ 6350 CR 200, Tiplersville, MS 38674.
