Ann Kimery Brazil, 72

June 12, 1953 – February 9, 2026

Ann Kimery Brazil, age 72, passed away peacefully on Monday evening, February 9, 2026, at AMG Specialty Hospital in Batesville, Mississippi, surrounded by her family.

Visitation for Mrs. Ann will be from 2 PM until 4 PM on Thursday afternoon, February 12, 2026, in the Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home. Following visitation, a graveside service will be held at 4:30 PM in Oakland Cemetery in Walnut, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.

Born June 12, 1953, in Tippah County, Mrs. Ann was the daughter of the late Wayne and Louise Kimery. She received her education from Ashland High School and later married the love of her life, Roger Brazil, who preceded her in death on January 29, 2000. Their years together were filled with devotion and shared dreams, and though his passing left a void in her heart, her love for him never faded.

A woman devoted to her family, Mrs. Ann worked faithfully as a seamstress for many years. With skilled hands and a patient spirit, she stitched not only garments but also care and dedication into everything she touched. She took pride in honest work and providing for those she loved.

A Christian and a woman of strong conviction, Mrs. Ann was truly one of a kind. She never sugar-coated her words — if she had something to say, you knew exactly where she stood. Her bold honesty was balanced by a caring heart, and those who knew her best understood that her straightforward ways were rooted in love. She had a feisty spirit, a quick wit, and a strength that carried her through life’s ups and downs.

Mrs. Ann found great joy in the outdoors. Blessed with a green thumb, she could grow just about anything, tending her flowers with patience and pride. Yet if you really wanted to see her light up, you’d hand her a fishing pole. Fishing was her true pastime and passion. She loved casting her line over open water, determined to out-fish anyone nearby — and more often than not, she did. Those quiet moments by the water brought her peace, laughter, and stories that will be told for years to come.

Above all, she treasured her family. She wore the title of “Nana” with deep pride and even deeper love. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she delighted in spoiling them, cheering them on, and reminding them exactly how much they were loved. Time spent with her family was her greatest accomplishment and her most cherished blessing.

Though the world feels a little dimmer without Mrs. Ann’s strong presence and unmistakable voice, we find comfort in knowing she is now healed and reunited with those who went before her. Her strong-willed spirit, feisty personality, steady hands, and loving heart will forever live on in the lives she shaped and the memories she leaves behind.

Those left to cherish memories include her daughters, Brandy Waldrop, and Dana Renfroe, her son, Jason Benson (Karen), one sister, Rose Case (Terry), her grandchildren, Jacob Benson (Anna), Tiffany Salmon (Donnie), Colby Benson, Dalton Waldrop (Trinity), Trinton Beeler, Skylar Beeler, Christopher Waldrop, and Rhett Beeler, six great grandchildren with one on the way, and her niece, Mykala Case.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her son, Chris Brubaker, her sister, Kathy Allen, and her beloved canine companion, Bruno.
