Florine Ann Mitchell “Baby Sister” was born on September 24, 1963, in Chicago, IL to Floyd Ashley, Sr. and Fannie Mitchell Bowens. She transitioned on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at her residence in Holly Springs, MS.
She was a graduate of Marshall High School in Chicago, IL. She loved dancing, writing, listening to music especially hits by “Al Green”, and being around her family.
She was preceded in death by her father: Floyd Ashley, Sr.; grandmother: Rose Mae Mitchell; grandfather: Preston Lesley Mitchell; and brother: Floyd Ashley, Jr.
Florine memories will be cherished by her mother: Fannie Mitchell Bowens of Holly Springs, MS; two sons: Reginald Wilson (Marquita) of Grand Junction, TN and Travis Mitchell of Holly Springs, MS; one daughter: Caressa Mitchell of Holly Springs, MS; six brothers: Derrick Mitchell (Sharon) of Hickory Flat, MS, Kevin Ashley (Kanesha) of Chicago, IL, Keith Ashley (Renee) of Ripley, MS, Harold “Jermaine” Bradley (Felicia), Lloyd Ashley, and Aaron Ashley all of Chicago, IL; four sisters: Jacqueline Isom (Eugene) of Holly Springs, MS, Rosemary Ashley of MN, Catrina Hampton (Steve) of Holly Springs, MS, and Vera Ashley of Chicago, IL; six grandchildren: Roman Wilson of Grand Junction, TN, Reniya Wilson of SC, Deslyn Wilson of Memphis, TN, Raelyn Wilson of Grand Junction, TN, Karla Mitchell and A’nesti Mitchell both of Holly Springs, MS; one great grandchild Rahmaj Jahbree Garrick “RJ” of SC; two special friends: Ioma Stewart and Shirley Hughes; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2026 at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel 140 N. Memphis St., Holly Springs, MS 38635
Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel 140 N. Memphis St., Holly Springs, MS 38635
