A Game Well Played: Celebrating the Life of Justin LeWayne Brown

Kickoff: January 8, 1982

Justin LeWayne Brown’s life kicked off on January 8, 1982, in Tupelo, Mississippi, born to the late Larry McPhearson and Mary Sue Brown.

Known as his mother’s favorite and only son, Justin’s early years were filled with simple joys like riding his bike, wearing his cowboy boots, and embracing the outdoors. He loved animals, especially dogs, and lived life with a free spirit and a big imagination. At one time, he loved wrestling so much, he believed he was Jerry Lawler.

1st Quarter – The Early Years

Justin’s first teammate in life was his sister, Shamekia, his first best friend. Together, they were fearless, adventurous, and yes… a little mischievous. From sneaking out to parties to learning how to blow bubbles with gum, their bond was unbreakable.

He loved all his sisters dearly, and their home was filled with laughter, watching old sitcoms and listening to blues music together.

Raised in a strong spiritual foundation, Justin grew up attending Chapel Grove Holiness Church and traveled to youth conferences around the world with his grandmother Donnie and Aunt Gwen, who helped shape the man he would become.

2nd Quarter – Building the Playbook

Justin was a man of intelligence and discipline, a straight-A student who graduated from Tupelo High School, Class of 2001.

He built lifelong friendships, including his close-knit circle known as “The Three Amigos”, Justin Brown, Bryan Ezell, and Dontay Smith.

Justin worked faithfully for Foamcraft Inc. before stepping into a long-term career with FedEx. He was also a proud member of the Tupelo Masonic Lodge.

Known for his voice and presence, Justin was a natural communicator, often going live on social media, sharing his thoughts, humor, and wisdom. He had a gift for making people laugh, a true comedian at heart.

Halftime – The Man He Became

Justin carried himself with confidence and class. He was charismatic, charming, and always well put together, creased, starched, and sharp. Not flashy, just clean and intentional. That style? He got it from his daddy.

He was a man who stood on principles, no nonsense, but full of love.

3rd Quarter – Love, Family & Legacy

On September 15, 2018, Justin married the love of his life, Tomeeki Warlick. Together, they built a beautiful blended family, raising their children with love, strength, and unity.

Justin was a true family man, a protector, a provider, and an exceptional father and grandfather. He adored his wife, cherished his children, and had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren.

Known as “Grandbaby” to his oldest grandchild and “Uncle JJ” to his nieces and nephews, his presence brought joy wherever he went.

4th Quarter – The Heart of the Game

Justin had a passion for cooking, he was a chef in his own right. He loved hosting family gatherings, cookouts, and bringing people together. He was the kind of host who made sure everyone felt at home.

And if there were sweets… Justin was there.

During the holidays, he was known for making his rounds, stopping by his mom’s and aunt’s house early, getting his plate, and slipping out before the crowd arrived. His favorite meal? His mom’s pinto beans.

Team Loyalty

A lifelong, dedicated fan of the New Orleans Saints, Justin loved the game of football. He often traveled to games with his cousin Ocella Freeman and others, cheering on his team with pride, passion, and unwavering loyalty.

Touchdown!

On March 27, 2026, Justin made his touchdown and transitioned from this earthly field into eternal victory.

Though the whistle has blown, his impact, his love, and the way he showed up for his family and friends will echo for generations to come.
