Allen Gene “Slick” Thomas, 74
July 31, 1951 – April 29, 2026
Allen Gene “Slick” Thomas was born July 31, 1951, the fourth of five children to the union of Elijah and Earline Thomas, Sr.
“Affectionately called “Slick” by most who knew him, he was a beloved son, brother, and friend who truly loved people. Though he may have been small in stature, Allen was truly a giant at heart.
“Slick” attended Pontotoc County Schools.
He was reared in the church and had a passion for encouraging young people. He was also very fond of giving directions. “Slick” was an all around entrepreneur, who worked many jobs.
He fought until the very end, holding on with courage and determination, but ultimately, God called him home. He passed from this life on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, surrounded by his loving brothers, at the Sanctuary Hospice House.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving brothers, Eddie James Thomas, Sr.; Sylvester (Elois) Thomas; Pastor Elijah Thomas, Jr.; and Curtis Thomas, all of Tupelo, Mississippi. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and dear friends with dear memories.
“Slick” was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother, Willie Earl Thomas. His visit here will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who love him.
