MOOREVILLE – Michael Dean Davis, Jr. put down his hammer and nails and entered the glory of Heaven from Memphis-University of Tennessee Hospital. Dean crossed over at 3 PM Tuesday, May 12, 2026 after a period of declining health. Born on October 2, 1973, Michael’s parents were Michael Dean Davis, Jr. who survives and the late Frankie Jean McCarley Oliver, who died February 16, 2026. Michael lived his entire life in Lee County. He was fun loving, always in motion, and had a way of getting things done promptly and thoroughly. Michael was a hard-working master carpenter and builder who was highly sought for jobs and was known as a go-getter. He had few hobbies except work but did like fishing, riding his motorcycles and woodworking. He loved drinking his coffee black and frequently. Michael had a good run over 52 years, was kind to others and cut a wide path of being an above average worker, family man and devoted to the good of mankind.
A service celebrating his life will be held at 10 AM Friday, May 15, 2026, in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with Bro. Billy Wayne Henderson officiating. Visitation will begin at 9 AM until service time on Friday only. For those unable to attend, the service may be viewed at www.hollandfuneraldirectors.com/Live-streaming at 10 AM Friday.
Michael is survived by his father, Michael Davis, Sr.; his wife, Kelly Davis and the children’s mother, Maybelle Davis; his daughters, Jacqulynn Davis (Jackie) and Tiraney Walls (Tyler); his sons, Michael Davis, III (Katie), Joshua Davis (Aspen), Noah Davis, Larry Walls (Haven), and David Walls (Paige); his siblings, Bobby David, Tina Davis, Lagen Fanelli, Codie Peavey; and other extended family members; 24 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
