Angela Maria Sappington Morgan, 66

December 18, 1959May 21, 2026

Angela Maria Sappington Morgan, age 66, peacefully entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Thursday morning, May 21, 2026, at Diversicare Health and Rehabilitation in Ripley, surrounded by the love and care of those who had become like family to her.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Mrs. Angela from 1 PM until 3 PM on Saturday, June 6, 2026, in the Heritage Chapel of the Ripley Funeral Home. This special time will be one of shared memories, laughter, stories, and love as all who knew her come together to honor and celebrate a life that touched so many hearts.

Born December 18, 1959, in Mississippi, Mrs. Angela was the daughter of the late Raymond Earl and Decie Louann Black Sappington. She received her education through the Marietta Public School System and later attended Booneville High School. Mrs. Angela worked for TPI until its closing and later spent time employed in factory sewing departments before health issues eventually led to her disability.

A Christian and woman full of life, Mrs. Angela possessed a personality that simply drew people to her. She was outspoken, spirited, and wonderfully sassy, never afraid to say exactly what was on her mind. Yet beneath that strong exterior was a heart overflowing with love and compassion. She wanted everyone around her to feel welcomed, loved, and appreciated, and more often than not, she accomplished exactly that. To know Angela was to love her.

Mrs. Angela found joy in life’s simple blessings. She loved sitting by the window watching hummingbirds and other birds flutter about, crafting beautiful pieces of jewelry with her hands, and most importantly, spending time with the family she adored so deeply. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world, and nothing made her happier than a phone call, visit, or simply hearing their voices. The excitement on her face whenever her loved ones gathered around her was a sight her family will forever treasure.

A true fighter through every season of life, Mrs. Angela overcame battles that would have broken many others. Having survived cancer twice, endured a week-long coma, and continually defied difficult odds placed before her, she proved time and time again just how strong willed and determined she truly was. Though her loved ones will miss her deeply and feel the emptiness her passing leaves behind, they find comfort in knowing she is now healed, resting peacefully, reunited with those gone before her, and enjoying the eternal joys prepared for her in Heaven.

Those left to cherish her precious memory include her two daughters, Dana Morgan and Heather Morgan; one son, Lewis Sappington; one sister, Linda Kilgo; one brother, Ronnie Sappington (Jamie); four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; along with the devoted staff of Diversicare who loved and cared for her dearly, as well as a host of extended family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Angela was preceded in death by her beloved companion, Larry Gore, and one sister, Reba Dianne Huddleston.

Ripley Funeral Home invites you to share memoires with Mrs. Angela’s family.
