Ruby Doris Williams, 72

November 26, 1953 – May 29, 2026

On Thanksgiving morning November 26, 1953, in Pontotoc, Mississippi a beautiful baby girl was born to Florine Roberson and the late John” Bronk” Roberson. This precious blessing was named Ruby Doris Roberson.

Ruby professed her hope in Christ at an early age at Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Pontotoc. She later moved her membership to Cherry Creek Missionary Baptist Church where she served as an Usher and sang in the choir. She was currently a faithful member of East Baptist Church where she sung in the choir and attended Sunday school and Wednesday night bible study.

Her early education and most of her high school years were spent at Pontotoc Attendance Center. She, however, was a proud graduate of Pontotoc High School.

She worked at Action-Lane in the cutting department. Later she was employed by the North Mississippi Medical Center Pontotoc Nursing Home where she worked in food and nutrition.

She not only used her culinary skills on the job but also at home for her family. She enjoyed baking pies and cakes. Her favorites to make were an Amalgamation, Coconut cake, and Pecan Pie. Coleslaw was a family favorite always requested anytime there was a barbecue.

Ruby never met a stranger and could talk to anyone. She loved going shopping and was well known in Belk Department Store and Kroger. She loved going to yard sales as well as having them with her mother and niece.

She was an avid Alabama football fan during the fall. Her Saturdays were spent watching her beloved team and cheering them on with a hearty “Roll Tide”. Other television programs that brought her joy were The Andy Griffth show and multiple news broadcast.

She departed her earthly life on May 29, 2026, at North Mississippi Medical Center Pontotoc Nursing Home.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her son, Lincoln (Alicia) Williams of Saltillo, MS, her loving mother, Mrs. Florine Terrell Roberson of Pontotoc, MS, sisters: Bonnie (Willie) Ware and Melissa Roberson all of Pontotoc, MS, sweet little niece, Kerianne Ware of Pontotoc, MS, great-godson Kreed, one special god sister, Jean Scruggs of Evanston, IL, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Special Friends: The Cooperwood Family and Darla Heath.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Albert Roberson; her maternal grandparents, Jack and Lovie Terrell; her paternal grandparents, John and Christianna Roberson.
