Tupelo – Geneva L. Boyd, 86, peacefully passed away Saturday, June 20, 2026. Born on December 7, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Babe and Leola Lester. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.



Geneva was a woman of great faith, resilience, courage, and determination. She was a hard worker who taught herself how to cook, become a seamstress, and a wonderful homemaker. As a woman of deep faith, she was a charter member of Harmony Primitive Baptist Church until it merged with Beulah Primitive Baptist Church.

She was born and raised in Chickasaw County and was a 1957 graduate of Houlka High School. After attending IJC, she married the love of her life, Marshall Boyd, on July 17, 1959. Together they built a family on love, faith, and compassion. They were married for 57 years until his passing in 2017. She worked as the ABE office manager and GED examiner at ICC-Tupelo and retired in 1999. Geneva was an encourager who always helped people find something to smile or laugh about. She was involved in all her daughters’ activities and made life fun and happy. Her daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren, and many friends loved her dearly.

She is survived by her daughters, Pamella B. Foster and her husband, Danny, Marsha B. Harrell and her husband, Dale; three grandchildren, Brad Foster and his wife, Karin, Kevin Foster and his wife, McKenzie, and Bryan Harrell and his wife, Savannah; five great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Collier, Baker, Graham, and Hughes; two nieces, Denise Barnett and Felesha Rowland; and one sister-in-law, Frances Morris.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Boyd; parents, Babe and Leola Lester; two brothers, Dennis Lester and Bud Lester; and one sister-in-law, Dorothy Lester.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Pegues, Tupelo.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues Funeral Directors with Elder Tony Lester officiating. Burial will follow at Lee Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choosing.
